MEET BRUCE

~EXPERIENCE THAT WORKS FOR YOU~

Bruce A. Williams, P.L.S. is a Professional Land Surveyor who has been surveying for 34 years and has been licensed as a Survey Professional since 2003. He worked in the private sector for the first 26 years of his career performing survey work ranging from single lot surveys for homeowners, to large scale development projects for developers and corporations, to street and highway projects for municipalities and state agencies.

In February 2016 Bruce moved into the public sector when he became the City Surveyor for Orem City, in Utah County. Bruce served in this capacity for two years, after which he became the Field Operations Manager for the Salt Lake County Surveyor’s Office, where he currently works to serve the residents of Salt Lake County.

Bruce is a precinct chair, an office that he has filled for the past 4 years and is grateful that he will serve in that capacity for the next 2 years. He is a county delegate and has served previously as a state and county delegate, as well.

Bruce’s love of surveying inspires him to give back to the profession he loves. As such, in the Spring of 2020 he became an adjunct professor at Salt Lake Community College, teaching up-and-coming surveyors in the Geomatics program. In addition, Bruce is a member of the Utah Council of Land Surveyors where he enjoys interacting with other surveyors and learning new technologies and procedures. He serves on the Education Committee for the UCLS.

When he finds a few moments for some downtime, Bruce enjoys woodworking, or being in the great outdoors. He is an avid fisherman, and loves going camping with his family.

Bruce is a dedicated husband to his wife, Rana. He is the father of twelve children, and the grandfather of twenty-one. His love of his family is what drives him to be the best surveyor that he can be. He cares for the property rights of all residents. As your Salt Lake County Surveyor, Bruce will put his experience to work in tirelessly protecting your private property rights.
